Soundview & Clason Point

Soundview and Clason Point cover the southern part of the Clason Point peninsula, where the Bronx River meets the East River. Housing is varied: about 24% of homes are in one- and two-family houses, including the bungalows of Harding Park and the Shorehaven condominium townhomes, while about half are in elevator buildings, many of them NYCHA. Clason Point Gardens, built in 1941 as the first NYCHA development in the Bronx, has two-story buildings. No subway station is inside the area; NYC Ferry's Soundview route stops at Clason Point Park, and buses including the Bx27 and Bx39 serve the area. Soundview Park, created from marshland acquired in 1937, borders the area.
