Highbridge

Highbridge is a hilly residential neighborhood on the west side of the Bronx, between the Cross Bronx Expressway, Jerome Avenue and the Harlem River, with Ogden Avenue running through it. Its housing is mostly five- and six-story apartment buildings, including Art Deco buildings such as Noonan Plaza, plus older houses on Woodycrest and Ogden avenues. PLUTO data counts about 13,600 residential units, about 67% in elevator buildings and about 60% in buildings from before 1940. Stair streets link its different levels. No subway stop sits inside the area; the 4 train's 167 St station on Jerome Avenue is just outside, and the B and D and 4 stop at 161 St-Yankee Stadium. The historic High Bridge, now a walkway, crosses the Harlem River to Manhattan.

Boundaries, architecture, stair streets and High Bridge from Wikipedia. Housing figures computed from PLUTO 26v2 residential units, with lots assigned to this NTA through 2020 census tracts (NYC Planning tract-to-NTA codes); building type uses PLUTO building class (C = walk-up, D = elevator, A/B = one- and two-family). Subway stations placed by point-in-polygon test of MTA station coordinates against the 2020 NTA boundary (data.cityofnewyork.us 9nt8-h7nd); 'just outside' means within about 150 m of the edge. Re-verified 2026-10-12: recomputed every PLUTO 26v2 share from the raw lots (2020 tract-to-NTA codes from data.cityofnewyork.us 63ge-mke6) and re-ran the station point-in-polygon test against the 2020 NTA file. 167 St (4) measured at about 104 m from the boundary; Noonan Plaza, Park Plaza, stair streets and High Bridge confirmed in Wikipedia.
