Williamsburg
Williamsburg sits on the East River in North Brooklyn, between Greenpoint to the north and South Williamsburg to the south, with East Williamsburg to the east. The housing mix runs from converted factory and warehouse lofts to high-density waterfront buildings that followed the 2005 rezoning of the North Side and Greenpoint waterfront. The L train stops at Bedford Avenue and Lorimer Street, and the G stops at Metropolitan Avenue. McCarren Park, about 36 acres on the Greenpoint border, has a landmarked pool and play center, and Marsha P. Johnson State Park and Domino Park sit on the waterfront. The Williamsburg Bridge, opened in 1903, links Williamsburg to Manhattan's Lower East Side.
Williamsburg has 18,748 open HPD housing violations, 3,236 of them Class C (immediately hazardous). Inspectors issued 5,630 new violations here in the last 12 months. That's the 25th most open violations of 53 neighborhoods in Brooklyn.
