Fact-checked October 12, 2026

Re-verified 2026-10-12: NTA polygon from NYC Open Data 9nt8-h7nd; housing shares recomputed from PLUTO 26v2 residential units (bldgclass A/B = one- and two-family, C = walk-up incl. co-ops, D = elevator incl. co-ops) joined by 2020 census tract (hm78-6dwm); pre-1940/2000+ use PLUTO yearbuilt, which is estimated for many older buildings. Stations re-placed by point-in-polygon on MTA 39hk-dx4f; parks and acreage from Parks Properties enfh-gkve; NYCHA from phvi-damg; landmark addresses geocoded with NYC Planning GeoSearch. Elevator share corrected to 34.0% of 19,369 units (was 32%); one-/two-family 36.3%; pre-1940 57.9% added. Corrected B/Q claim: Avenue U and Neck Rd are Q-only daytime stops; Kings Hwy (B, Q) is 44 m outside. Removed the unverified 'one-story brick homes and bungalows south of Avenue V' claim and the claim that the house at 27 Gravesend Neck Rd was Lady Moody's (the Gravesend article says only that she is said to be buried in Old Gravesend Cemetery). Old Gravesend Cemetery 1.65 ac; Kelly Park Playground about 69% inside. 2525 Coney Island Ave geocodes inside.
