Prospect Heights

Prospect Heights is a compact area between Flatbush Avenue and roughly Washington and Classon Avenues, running from Atlantic Avenue south to Eastern Parkway. Most of the interior is Italianate and Neo-Grec brownstone rowhouses from the late 1800s, protected by the Prospect Heights Historic District (city-designated in 2009). Larger apartment buildings line Eastern Parkway and Plaza Street East. Near Atlantic Avenue, Pacific Park buildings such as 535 Carlton and 550 Vanderbilt have added hundreds of apartments since 2015. PLUTO counts about 12,700 homes. The B and Q stop at Seventh Avenue, and the 2 and 3 run along the Flatbush Avenue and Eastern Parkway edges. The Central Library, Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden line the south side of Eastern Parkway.

Fact-checked October 12, 2026

Re-checked 2026-10-12: subway stations re-tested against the 2020 NTA polygon; PLUTO home counts and shares recomputed from residential units inside the polygon and matched; park acreages from the NYC Parks Properties dataset. Boundaries are approximate. Fixed: PLUTO shows elevator-building units concentrated on Eastern Parkway and Plaza Street East, not Lincoln Place. Confirmed: 535 Carlton and 550 Vanderbilt (built 2015 per PLUTO, about 300 units each) are inside the NTA; historic district designated June 2009 (Wikipedia); 7 Av (B/Q) inside, 2/3 stations just outside on the edges; Brooklyn Museum and Central Library sit in the Prospect Park NTA across Eastern Parkway.
