Neighborhood · Staten Island
Annadale, Huguenot, Prince's Bay & Woodrow
This area covers four neighborhoods on Staten Island's South Shore along Raritan Bay. Much of Annadale's woodland was cleared in the last three decades of the 20th century for new homes, so much of the housing is relatively new. The Staten Island Railway stops at Annadale, Huguenot, Prince's Bay and Pleasant Plains, and the Korean War Veterans Parkway passes through Annadale. Blue Heron Park, bounded by Amboy Road, Barclay Avenue, Hylan Boulevard and Bertram Avenue, is a nature preserve with six kettle ponds. The western end takes in historic Sandy Ground, around Bloomingdale and Woodrow Roads, where free African Americans began buying land in 1828; its 1897 Rossville AME Zion Church is a city landmark.
Annadale, Huguenot, Prince's Bay & Woodrow has 1,380 open HPD housing violations, 106 of them Class C (immediately hazardous). Inspectors issued 450 new violations here in the last 12 months. That's the 13th most open violations of 17 neighborhoods in Staten Island.

Re-checked 2026-10-12. Station list rebuilt from MTA station coordinates in 2020 NTA polygons: Pleasant Plains also falls in this NTA, so it was added. LPC Individual Landmark Sites places the Sandy Ground landmarks (Rossville AME Zion Church, its cemetery, the Coleman House and the Bloomingdale Road cottages) in this NTA (SI0304), not Arden Heights-Rossville, so Sandy Ground moved here; 1828 land purchase, 1897 date and Feb 1, 2011 designation from LPC LP-2416. Seguine House designated 5/25/1967 per LPC dataset. Blue Heron Park boundaries (NYC Parks park page) and six kettle ponds/Spring Pond 1.75 acres (NYC Parks history).
