Flushing & Willets Point

This area covers downtown Flushing and Willets Point in north-central Queens. Flushing was founded in 1645 as Vlissingen, and the Main Street and Roosevelt Avenue crossing is one of the busiest intersections in the city. Flushing–Main Street is the 7 train's terminal, and the LIRR Port Washington Branch stops here too. Housing is mostly apartments: about 49% of its roughly 30,500 homes are in elevator buildings and 35% in condominiums, and towers reach 26 stories. Willets Point, the industrial "Iron Triangle" east of Citi Field, is being redeveloped, and Etihad Park, a planned 25,000-seat stadium for New York City FC, broke ground there in December 2024.
