Fact-checked October 12, 2026

Boundaries checked by testing MTA station coordinates and landmark points against the 2020 NTA polygon (NYC Open Data 9nt8-h7nd). 30 Av, Broadway and 36 Av fall inside; Astoria Blvd sits on the northern boundary. Kaufman Astoria Studios, Museum of the Moving Image and Athens Square points fall inside. Corrected the Athens Square statues: NYC Parks lists Socrates (1993) and Athena (1998), not Sophocles. Bridge (1909) and line (1917) dates and Greek community from Wikipedia (Astoria); line opened February 1, 1917 and W runs weekdays daytime only per Wikipedia (BMT Astoria Line); 30th Avenue station sits at 31st Street per its Wikipedia article.
